The Jamaica Rotary Club and NYPD Bring Holiday Cheer to Queens Centers for Progress

The holiday season shined a little brighter at Queens Centers for Progress (QCP), thanks to the incredible generosity of the Jamaica Rotary Club, the NYPD 107th Precinct and Patrol Borough Queens South. Together, they carried on a cherished tradition of giving back to the community, providing warm winter gear—hats, scarves, and gloves—for our Bellerose Day Services participants, and delivering toys that lit up the faces of the children at our Apple Preschool.

This annual holiday visit has become one of the many cornerstones of community support at QCP, with the Jamaica Rotary Club and the NYPD working hand in hand for many years to make the season brighter for QCP families. The combined efforts of these community heroes highlight the power of collaboration and the true spirit of giving back.

“Every year, we look forward to the generosity and kindness of the Jamaica Rotary Club and NYPD,” said Terri Ross, Executive Director of QCP. “The gifts they bring aren’t just practical—they’re heartfelt. It’s a beautiful reminder of the care and compassion that defines this community.”

Beyond the holidays, Jamaica Rotary’s commitment to QCP extends throughout the year. Each June, they host a barbecue with the NYPD at our Bellerose location, bringing together participants, staff, and families for a day of fun, food, and community connection. There were also Disney characters, desserts, jumping rope contests, and laugh out loud fun! These events demonstrate their unwavering dedication to supporting QCP’s mission and fostering a sense of belonging.

The partnership between the Jamaica Rotary Club and the NYPD embodies the spirit of the season—bringing people together, sharing kindness, and making a difference. Through their generous efforts, QCP families not only receive thoughtful gifts, but they also feel the genuine love and support of a community that cares deeply for them.
